To the west of Paris, in the Yvelines, the Dénicheur is a traditionally-built electrically-powered boat seating 18 passengers and offering leisure cruises near Paris on the Marly arm of the Seine between the Island of the Impressionists (the Ile de Chatou) and the Bougival locks. There are opportunities to visit the boat-restoration workshops. Commentary is provided by an experienced waterman, who will bring back to life the heyday of boating on the Seine, the Watermen’s Ball, La Grenouillère with its famous bathing facilities and the busy world of the boatyards.
