| Planning a series of tours and visits in the Yvelines is to embark on a journey of discovery through the art and architecture of past centuries. It is to admire the work of Le Nôtre in the gardens at the Palace of Versailles or delight in the many other parks and gardens scattered throughout the Yvelines. It is to wander at will around a host of châteaux, museums and exhibitions, homes of famous artists and composers, and architects’ villas. It is to share in the passions of the Impressionists from the veranda of the Maison Fournaise, the setting for Renoir’s painting, “Déjeuner des Canotiers”, or to visit sites of outstanding natural beauty unlike any other so close to Paris, including numerous forests and two Regional Nature Parks. It is also to enjoy days out with the children in the Yvelines’ leisure complexes, in the Thoiry safari park or among the models of France’s famous monuments at France Miniature. |
